HILLSBORO — Clifford G. Hallett, farmer, retired school teacher and principal and member of the Southeast Fountain School Board when Fountain Central High came into being, died of a heart attack at his home on Rt. 1, Hillsboro, at 8 p.m. Saturday. He was 64. He was a son of John and Linnie Clodfelter Hallett and was born Jan. 4, 1906 in Fountain County on the farm where he died. He was married April 26, 1931 to Katherine Truax at Wallace Phanuel Lutheran Church. Mr. Hallett was a graduate of Wallace High School and received bachelor and master's degrees from Indiana State. He taught school for 20 years at Kingman, Greensfork and Wallace and served as principal at Alamo and Waveland. He served a term as Fountain County superintendent of schools. Mr. Hallett, who farmed since his retirement from teaching, was a member and held offices in Wallace Phanuel Lutheran Church and was active in community affairs. Surviving are his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sue Hallett of Greenwood; four grandchildren, and a niece. A sister, Mrs. Mabel Clore of near Wallace, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Phanuel Lutheran Church in Wallace with Rev. Karl Karbel of Attica the minister and burial in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state an hour preceding the services at the church. Friends may call at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown.  --typed by Walt W
